Do aliens exist? Find out at the Royal Observatory

Published on 15th Jan 2010
A forthcoming event at the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh should intrigue anyone with an interest in the paranormal.

On Monday February 1st at 7:30pm, the observatory's visitor centre will provide the venue for a debate focusing on the possible existence of extraterrestrial life.

Observatory scientists Andy Longmore and Duncan Forgan are hosting the Are We Alone? discussion, which is likely to prove popular with any curious souls going out in Edinburgh next month.

According to the visitor centre website, the debate will attempt to answer questions such as the likelihood of other planets in the universe supporting life and whether we will ever be able to find such planets.

Are We Alone? could be the perfect opportunity for people looking for things to do in Edinburgh to experience the observatory, as essential repairs to the telescope domes mean that public sessions are not currently running.
